Proverbs 25
Verses 6 & 7, We should not seek honor for ourselves. It is better to quietly and faithfully accomplish the work God has given us to do.
Verse 13 talks about finding someone to trust. This is often difficult. A faithful employee is punctual, responsible, honest, and hardworking. Find out what you can do for your employer to make his or her job easier...or how you can help them best!

Luke 7:1-10

Even though we can't see Jesus standing in front of us, He can still hear, heal and love us. He IS right beside us all the time!

Philippians 4:14-23

Verse 19, 'And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.'

We can trust that God will always meet our needs! We must remember the difference between our wants and our needs. Most people want to feel good and avoid discomfort or pain. We may not get all that we want. By trusting in Christ, our attitudes and appetites can change from wanting everything to accepting HIS provision and power to live for HIM!

Pslams 122

Going to God's house can be a delight or a chore. Like remembering to read God's Word each day. We may find worship a chore if we have unconfessed sin or if our live for God has cooled. But if we are close to God and enjoy His presence, we will be eager to worship and praise Him.

Proverbs 24

Luke 6:43-49

Verse 43-45 & 47

You can't be what you aren't. If you are bitter, angry, or unhappy in your heart you can't pretend and make it look like you aren't these things. Your heart WILL bubble and out of your mouth and face will show what your heart is feeling!

Philippians 4:8-13

Keeping our eyes and mind from evil or things that wouldn't please God. What we see and hear is what we end up thinking and talking and acting like.

Psalms 121

God always is watching over us and protecting us! We are safe! He never gets tired of watching over us. Psalms 56:3 is my favorite verse that reminds me of this!

2 Kings 22-23

Proverbs 23
I was really thinking about the verses that talked about wisdom and training.

Verse 9
Verse 12 about applying your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge.
Verse 13 & 14 Talk about training of children
Verse 15 talks about how us being wise makes God happy!
Verse 19 again talks about being wise
Verse 22-25 Parental wisdom

I think that it's important to remember these things on learning, both as children and adults. It's easy to make poor choices.

Luke 6:37-42
'Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven....'

These verses especially stuck out to me. It's SO easy to judge others, to criticize. We need to be compassionate towards all people. If we are critical rather than compassionate, we will also receive criticism. If we treat others generously, graciously, and compassionately, these will come back to us in full measure! It is SO easy I think to get caught up in people's "criticism" of others and not even know it! I think we should make sure this week to show compassion, to NOT engage in criticism as it arises!

Philippians 4:1-7
'Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.'

I really like this verse! It tells us to leave all our worries and concerns in God's hands! I have prayer requests that God hears and this verse gives me continued hope that He DOES hear! It also addresses the being compassionate from the verse above. It talks about our gentleness being evident to all. This is important in being non-critical...don't you think?

Psalms 120

Verse 1 talks about calling on the Lord in our distress and Him answering us. What a promise! It continues the leaving of our worries with Him.

2 Kings 20-21

Hezekiah prayed to the Lord, and He heard him & healed him.
